ZANU PF Politburo Members In Verbal War Over Corruption Allegations

ZANU PF politburo members have exchanged words on social media over corruption allegations. Deputy Secretary for the Youth League, Lewis Matutu, was the first to strike accusing Gokwe Nembudziya legislator, Justice Mayor Wadyajena of planning to sabotage the planned fight against corruption.

Posting on microblogging site, Twitter, Matutu said:

We’re aware of what @JusticeMayorW and team are planning to sabotage our anti corruption campaign, we’re ready for all of you

Wadyajena who recently imported a Lamborghini responded saying that Matutu must also answer to corruption allegations raised against him. He tweeted:

Get serious! We’re all against corruption. If you’re genuine about addressing corruption go to ZRP/ZACC & report! Not grandstanding with meaningless pressers & all because makanyimwa mari. You should start by addressing charges of corruption laid against you & your team.Pathetic!

Only yesterday, Matutu announced a list of bigwigs he accuses of engaging in underhand dealings to thereby suffocating president Emmerson Mnangagwa’s efforts to revive the economy.

Some of the names which made it to the list are as follows:

Tourism Minister Prisca Mupfumira, Jorum Gumbo, Infomation Minister Monica Mutsvangwa’s children, Neville and Elizabeth, Mlungisi Moyo, Artwell Ndlovu, Wayne Harrington, Tinomuda Machakaire, John Mangudya, Tafadzwa Musarara, Henrietta Rushwaya and Tongai Muzenda (son of late vice president Simon Muzenda).

Zimbabwe is ranked amongst the most corrupt countries in the world.

Meanwhile, President Mnangagwa’s campaign on fighting against corruption has been criticised for lacking real action.
