Zim Opposition To Use Hunger In Pushing For Reforms

Leader of Transform Zimbabwe (TZ), Jacob Ngarivhume is planning to roll out an unusual strategy to force President Emmerson Mnangagwa to deal with the country’s failing economy.

In an interview with Daily News, Ngarivhume revealed that his party intends to reach out to other political parties to embark on a hunger strike. Said Ngarivhume:

We have plans to have a hunger strike to confront this regime. The mobilisation is going on, we are reaching out to other opposition political parties like the MDC.

We don’t want Transform Zimbabwe to be acting on their own and the MDC do its own programmes, we want to share ideas.

The month of July is the target for our hunger strike and we are ready as a party. Ordinary Zimbabweans are suffering. We need to bring an end to this madness. The leadership has failed this nation.

While TZ intends to use a hunger strike as a method to achieve its objects, the MDC has announced that it will roll out mass protests across the country.
