Chief Chivero Beaten By Chinese National In Norton

Chief Chivero full name Brown Shopo, a local traditional leader was on Monday beaten by a Chinese national after he reportedly approached management at a tile manufacturing factory, Sun Yengifeng in Norton seeking jobs for his subjects. The company is due to be officially opened by President Emmerson Mnangagwa anytime from now.

Chief Chivero was left with a twisted arm after being beaten up by a Chinese national. Speaking to New Zimbabwe.com, an angry Chief Chivero said that he had welcomed the Chinese into his area but they are now abusing ordinary citizens. He said:

When they opened the gates I got in with permission from security. He (the Chinese national) from nowhere and kicked me. My hand is in pain. The person who attacked me is a Chinese national and I am on my way to report the matter to the police.

Independent Norton legislator Temba Mliswa immediately demanded that the Chinese national be deported. Mliswa fumed:

This speaks to the issue of us being treated as second class citizens in our own country. The government must deal with it immediately.

The department of immigration must deal with it immediately. He must be deported. For as long as they make people who are foreigners more superior than us there shall be protests, there shall be demonstrations and there shall be a message which should be sent to them foreigners.

This is something I am looking forward to law enforcement agents taking their role seriously and detaining this guy. They must deport him back to China. If he is not deported back to China there shall be hell.

  1. That Chinese needs instant justice; i wonder why the whole village could not defend their Chief and beat the crap out of the stupid Chinese.

  2. How come all the chiefs are silent. You do not want this precedent in any country there would be instant response. On another note, how come chief Chivero gave these folks land to do tiles in the middle of a wheat farm? No we do not even have bread. A tile farm could have been done in industrial areas, not in a wheat farm. They probably lost all respect for him after such a deal and happily proceeded to beat him up. Again, beating up a chief disrespects the whole area under him, all his subjects, what he stands for, culture and his area. It’s just not acceptable and requires retribution. I think the chiefs council need to come in and straighten this.
