'Political Actors Not Interested In State House Dialogue Return'

Various political parties have denied President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s claim that they are begging to be readmitted to the State House Dialogue process.

While addressing a Political Actors Dialogue (POLAD) meeting late last week President Mnangagwa said that some political leaders who initially left the process had a chance of heart and were seeking to be allowed back. He said then:

I have received inquiries from some political parties outside the dialogue, who were once here and left, who want to come back, but I have told them to go to the conveners.

Though he did not identify any names, there are a few leaders who pulled out of the dialogue, among them is Nkosana Moyo, Noah Manyika and Daniel Shumba.

However, in an interview with New Zimbabwe, United Democratic Alliance (UDA) leader Daniel Shumba said:

No. We are not part of POLAD and we will not be part of it until it is inclusive of all stakeholders that include civil society and all political parties.

Both Moyo and Manyika refuted the claim that they are seeking to rejoin the State House dialogue when contacted by the publication.
