A police officer was stabbed to death on Thursday at Chibuwe Business Centre in Chipinge by a suspect he had arrested.
The incident was confirmed by national police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi.
Assistant Commissioner Nyathi revealed that the suspect, Lloyd Mahovhana (33) had been arrested by Constable Kadeya when he stabbed him to death. He said:
The suspect had no reason whatsoever to resist and, in the process, attack the police detail who was performing his constitutional duties.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police urges members of the public to co-operate and allow the law to take its course whenever one commits an offence.
