Chamisa Likened To Cyril Ramaphosa's Detractors

A media magnate, Trevor Ncube seemed to liken opposition MDC leader Nelson Chamisa to South African President Cyril Ramaphosa’s detractors.

Ncube, who owns Alpha Media Holdings, the publishers of Newsday, The Standard and Zimbabwe Independent was responding to a tweet by Justice Malala.

Even though Ncube did not mention Chamisa by name, he left little to the imagination. He wrote:

A variation of this playing out in Zimbabwe:
1. Declare you have won elections before a formal announcement
2. Incite your supporters to protest violently
3. Campaign for US sanctions
4. Lead violent protests damaging private property
5. Demand 2023 elections in 2019.

He was responding to Justice Malala’s tweet where he said:

How to sabotage @CyrilRamaphosa:
1. Heighten policy uncertainty with factionalist assaults on @SAReserveBank.
2. Applaud #StateCapture ministers; attack Pravin Gordhan et al; champion populist policy.
3. Watch as rand tanks; investment flees; confidence drops.
4. Blame Ramaphosa.
