Steward Bank Insists CEO Resigned And Was Not Fired
Following reports that the now-former CEO of Steward Bank, Lance Mambondiani, had been forced to resign from his job, the bank has said that the banker was not fired and that it wishes him well. The bank also said that there was no case against Mambondiani as alleged in some reports.
From ZimLive:
It was speculated after Mambondiani’s exit was announced that he had been forced out over unauthorised foreign currency transactions in which he stood to benefit. Strive Masiyiwa, Econet’s founder and majority shareholder, is reported to have ordered his exit
Feedback“That’s not true. He resigned and we wish him well. There is no case of foreign exchange misuse that we are aware of,” Econet spokesman Fungai Mandiveyi said.
