Social Media Activists, TeamPachedu Distances Self From ‘Fake’ Demo

TeamPachedu has distanced itself from social media posts agitating for demonstrations on Thursday, June 30, 2019.

TeamPachedu is the name of social media activists considered to be sympathetic to the opposition MDC party. In a series of posts on microblogging site, Twitter, TeamPachedu wrote:

You may have heard of fake calls for demonstrations tomorrow.

Pachedu has noted with grave concern the elevated warnings from the government.

Pachedu is aware of NO LEGITIMATE CALLS for demonstrations tomorrow.

Our advice:

DO NOT ENGAGE IN DEMONSTRATIONS TOMORROW!

Most are not on Twitter or even Facebook. Those that often have no electricity, so please DO YOUR PART in spreading this message:

DO NOT PARTICIPATE IN ANY DEMONSTRATIONS TOMORROW

It’s unknown who spread the call. Could it be a trap? We don’t know.

Peaceful protest is a right, guaranteed in our constitution.

Wisdom is knowing when to answer the call.

This call going around is fake. Let’s not give anyone the excuse they’re waiting for.

We WILL be heard. We WILL be respected. We will choose when and where that happens.
