Matabeleland South province is facing an acute shortage of teachers with reports indicating that some schools have only 3 teachers, taking all Grades, from ECD up to Grade 7.
In some cases, all the teachers would be untrained.
The dire situation was on Friday confirmed to the Chronicle by Matabeleland South Provincial Education Director Mr Lifias Masukume.
Masukume said that the few teachers available were overwhelmed. The most affected schools are in Insiza and Gwanda rural.
This is not true how can such a report be brought right in the face of hundreds of trained teachers who have failed to get employment in the ministry of education
I THINK THEI GOVERNMENT IS NOT DOING ENOUGH I MEAN A LOT OF TEACHERS FROM ZIM ARE FLOGGING IN SOUTH AFRICA DAY IN AND DAY OUT. SEARCHING FOR WHAT WE CALL GREENER PASTURE NOT REALISING THAT THEY ARE PUTTING THEIR OWN COUNTRY IN A DISADVANTAGED SITUATION SO TO SPEAK…MY ADVICE TO THESE FELLOW BROTHERS AND SISTERS INCLUDING THE PRESIDENT HIMSELF IS TO SIT DOWN AND GET A USER-FRIENDLY WAY OF GETTING THIS SITUATION UNDER CONTROL….
