Orlando Pirates winger Kudakwashe Mahachi has been dropped from the Warriors team selected to take part in the ongoing COSAFA tournament in South Africa’s port city of Durban.
The national team will depart for South Africa on Wednesday afternoon (today) with a 30-member squad that will start the campaign on Saturday against Group A winners in the quarter-finals.
Mahachi has been excluded from the travelling party as he is tying the note on Saturday, the same day the Warrior open their campaign.
Four players have been dropped from the provisional squad. Beside Mahachi, goalkeeper George Chigova, midfielder Danny Phiri and China-based striker Nyasha Mushekwi have also been dropped.
Mahachi will likely link up with the rest of the team for the friendly match against Nigeria on the 8th of June, the very same day when the COSAFA final will be played.
