President Mnangagwa's Message To Mark Africa Day

President Emmerson Mnangagwa said that Africa Day is a day for Africans to celebrate the values of brotherhood and sisterhood in unity. A short statement on his official Twitter handle read:

This Africa Day, let us celebrate the values of brotherhood, sisterhood and unity across our great continent. Each and every nation struggled for their freedom and sovereignty. Now we must work together to build a brighter future of progress and prosperity for all.

Africa Day is the annual commemoration of the foundation of the Organisation of African Unity on 25 May 1963. It is celebrated in various countries on the African continent, as well as around the world.

According to Wikipedia, the Organisation of African Unity was founded, with the initial aim to encourage the decolonisation of Angola, Mozambique, South Africa and Southern Rhodesia.

The organisation pledged to support the work conducted by freedom fighters, and remove military access to colonial nations.
