Surface Wilmar Resumes Operations At Chitungwiza Factory

Cooking oil manufacturer, Surface Wilmar has resumed operations after it was allocated foreign currency by the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ).

The company, which owns Chitungwiza based Surface (manufacturers of Pure Drop) and Olivine Industries had suspended operations citing foreign currency shortages.

Surface Wilmar CEO Sylvester Mangani reiterated the company’s commitment to Zimbabwe. He said:

We had stopped production because of foreign currency challenges but our commitment to Zimbabwe never changed. We remain firmly committed to Zimbabwe and it is our belief that we will remain the biggest cooking oil manufacturer.
