Chapungu Beats Caps United, Moves To Top Of Table

Chapungu has claimed the top of the Castle Lager Premier League table after defeating Caps United 2-1. This was Caps United’s first defeat since the beginning of the season.

Reports suggest that the hosts, Caps United were in control of the game but could not score more goals to claim the three points. Their only goal came from Gabriel Nyoni in the 19th-minute.

Chapungu responded by a goal from Brighton Mugoni who connected a corner-kick. Three minutes into the second half, Patrick Khumbula scored another goal to secure the three points for the Airforce side.

The Green machine exerted pressure through substitutes Ronald Chitiyo, Phineas Bamusi, and Nyoni they could not find the back of the net.

Chapungu is now on top with sixteen points followed by Caps United, who dropped to second, by a superior goal difference.
