Govt Set To Privatise ZUPCO

The Cabinet has revealed government plans to privatise the Zimbabwe United Passenger Company (ZUPCO). This is premised at resuscitating the operations of the parastatal to ease challenges in public transport.

The development was disclosed by Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Professor Mthuli Ncube at a post-cabinet briefing.

Meanwhile, the cabinet approved a deal to revive Cold Storage Company operations under a joint venture. The deal shall see the partnering company, Boulstead Beef Pvt Limited taking over the management of CSC seven ranches for an initial period of 25 years. It will also be in charge of abattoirs in Bulawayo, Chinhoyi, Masvingo, Marondera, and Kadoma.
