Madinda Downbeat After Gamecocks Thrashing

Highlanders were pulled apart by Chicken Inn in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match played at Barbourfields Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Gamecocks won 3-0 courtesy of a Bret Amidu brace and a fine strike by the country’s leading Top Goal Scorer Clive Augusto.

Speaking during a post-match press conference, Highlanders coach Madinda Ndlovu conceded that his charges could not match Chicken Inn. He said:

It was a bad day in the office. We started off very well but the first goal dismantled us. We did not really match Chicken Inn.

Even after trying to change our playing system the boys had already given up. It’s a pity to say that. I cannot tell the minute when a change will happen in the team.

Whether I’m there or not the boys need to soldier on. Do you think the situation is normal at Highlanders?

Highlanders have now gone for seven games without a win, which is considered the club’s worst start in 48 years.

The club is now languishing in the relegation zone.
