Shingi Munyeza Calls For National Dialogue To Bring Regime Legitimacy

Businessman and cleric, Shingi Munyeza, said that politicians should come together for the good of the country.

Munyeza said that Zimbabweans cannot run away from the need for dialogue as it is the only way to bring legitimacy.

He urged the ruling party to rise above its own issues and be accommodating of everyone. He said:

Without political stability and cohesion, we cannot talk about this economy…Politics should converge to bring about legitimacy to pull us forward, but there has to be a dialogue; we cannot run away from that if we are, ultimately, going to deal with our ultimate issues.

The political leaders must come together and say ‘let’s put our differences aside; lets now talk about leading these people and this country forward – making sure that we are a prosperous nation that has its differences, diversities but converge and are united to bring about a better tomorrow for everyone.

We can go and give technical solutions, but as long as there is no cohesion in our political leadership (it will be difficult to revive the country’s economy).

What I mean is that they (political leaders) must be able to bring everyone to the table; the ruling party that is in government must rise above its own issues and bring everybody to the table and be accommodating at all times.
