WATCH: ED Narrates How Harare City Misused Loan For Water Reticulation

In a video below, president narrates how the Harare City Council diverted the $144 million loan from the Chinese Export and Import Bank meant for sanitation and water reticulation. He said that the maladministration was revealed by his Chinese counterpart, President Xi Jinping. The purported loan was secured in 2013 through the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe. It was for the purposes of rehabilitating water and sewer treatment plants at Letombo, Warren Park, Morton Jaffray, and Crowborough sewer treatment plant. Currently, Harare like most of all local authorities in Zimbabwe is struggling to consistently provide water to residents. The intermittently supplied water is argued to be unclean and unsafe for domestic use. Watch the video below:
