The MDC largely supported and urged its members to take to the streets along with other Zimbabweans leading to the forced resignation of Robert Mugabe in November 2017. Following the coup, Zanu-PF senior members declared that the Mugabe removal was a Zanu-PF matter and would be handled by the party alone.
Tsvangirai died on 14 February 2018. At the first anniversary of Tsvangirai’s in February 2019 his widow Elizabeth Tsvangirai said “Dr R.M Tsvangirai supported the New Dispensation Whole Heartedly because he thought it was the beginning of a new era, ”
Actually the Robert Mugabe ouster was a great opportunity lost by Zimbabwe at home and abroad as the new thought on reconciliation and transformation transcending political, religious, tribal, revolutionary, provincial and nepotistic boundaries was buried alive..hope was grossly shattered in many as hardly a corrective version to the revolutionary/political development model was not at all proposed. Zimbabweans revolutionaries have a lot at stake now as they seemingly have recolonised Zimbabwe and Africans {economy and human life is wretched}, which is by far a great departure from the independence development dialogue palance, to which we Zimbabweans, and Africans and the progressive world looked forward with Hope. Our Living and Loving God of Abraham is truely a God of Justice and Peace.
