Burundi Solicits Zimbabwe's Help In Quest To Join SADC

Burundi is seeking Zimbabwe’s help in its bid to join the Southern African Development Community (SADC).

President Pierre Nkurunziza sent a special envoy for a courtesy call on President Emmerson Mnangagwa at his Munhumutapa offices in Harare on Wednesday.

Ezechiel Mbigira, who is Burundi’s Foreign Affairs Minister said that Zimbabwe and his country share a common history. Said Mbiriga:

Zimbabwe is a country that has a long history, a very good and encouraging history.

As the special envoy of President Pierre Nkurunzinza, I have come here to continue strengthening the relations between Burundi and Zimbabwe because Zimbabwe is a sister country, it’s a country with which we have a common history and a common future that’s why we need to relate with this country in a very special way.
