In an election promise that shock many heads, Julius Malema promised to remove all South African borders if or when the EFF gets into power.
In an interview with one of SA’s leading radio stations, Radio 702 Malema said
“Borders will not be there when the EFF is in government. They are imposed on us by colonisers. If we speak decolonisation of education and other things, that must include the borders.”
When asked how a country without borders will function he said
If we service a Zimbabwean in Seshego Hospital, then we take that bill to the Zimbabwean government… We have to build regional structures including continental structures including legislature that is binding and that has consequences because free movement of goods and people should be regulated
. He further took a swipe at those instigating xenophobia by saying:
“The truth is when we are done fighting the foreigners, there will be a tribal war; there still will not be jobs and you still won’t get that woman you want because you will still be afraid to propose.”
