GMAZ Wants Wadyajena Withdrawn From Portfolio Committee

Grain Millers’ Association of Zimbabwe (GMAZ) led by Mr Tafadzwa Musarara has expressed to the Speaker of Parliament, Jacob Mudenda through their lawyes that they want Jstice Mayor Wadyajena removed from both participating and chairing the Portfolio committee on Agriculture, Water and Climate.

The association cited events that happened outside Parliament as symptomatic of a possibility that Wadyajena would not impartially execute his duties either as a memmber or chairperson of the Parliamentary Portifolio Committee.

It is alleged that the friction started after the committee postponed session that was scheduled for the 2nd of April without informing GMAZ. GMAZ lawyers invited members of the media to whom they displayed their displeasure in the conduct of the Parliamentary Committe. Wadyajena is reported to have criticised GMAZ presser via his twitter handle.

GMAZ is being probed over grain procurement several issues pertaining to wheat and grain importation.
