MDC MP In Court For Assaulting Female Party Member

MDC Alliance Member of Parliament for Mpopoma-Pelandaba, Charles Moyo appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Jeconiah Ncube facing an assault charge.

Moyo reportedly assaulted a female party member during ward elections held at the party’s provincial offices in Bulawayo.

He allegedly slapped the party’s provincial deputy chairperson on Gender Representation, Tsitsi Mutekeri, after she complained that the election process was not in line with the party’s constitution. Moyo assaulted the woman when she attempted to leave the venue in protest.
