National team head coach Sunday Chidzambga and team manager Wellington Mpandare left Harare for Egypt on Monday to attend the 2019 Afcon draw. The delegation also includes Zifa Board Member Chamu Chiwanza.
The Warriors are among the 23 teams that qualified for the tournament set to take place in the north African nation from June 21 – July 19. The draw will be held on Friday at 8 pm Zimbabwean time.
A statement released on Tuesday by the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) says:
Sunday Chidzambwa and Wellington Mpandare left for Egypt yesterday to represent Zimbabwe at the AFCON draw set for 12 April. Board Member Chamu Chiwanza is also with them.
Meanwhile, CAF has dismissed the 2019 Afcon draw procedure being reported in the media.
CAF said that it is yet to approve a draw procedure in accordance with the statutes and regulations of the confederation.
