Woman Loses US$9,500 + R7,000 In Residential Stand Scam

Patience Chibaya is reported to have lost a fortune of about US$9,500 plus R7,000 in a residential stand scam. She had responded to an advert in the Sunday Mail of a number 17126 Borrowdale stand. Resultantly, Harare magistrate Ms Rumbidzai remanded in custody Nyamadzawo and Munemo to the 4th of April.

Nyamadzawo and Munemo as well as Prosper Bizerck, Andrew Mujungwa and Donny, who are still at large, are alleged to have advertised a bogus stand in The Sunday Mail. The suspects had photocopied Deed of Transfer which they gave to Chibaya for verification with the Deeds office.

One Donald is reported to have alleged that the stand belonged to Bibi Sungwa, based in Goromonzi, whom he called aunt.

It is reported that Chibaya paid in cash, the amount above, to Muzane Nyamadzawo and Donald. The court heard that phones belonging to suspected fraudsters went off the following day.

Chibaya was tipped that Nyamadzawo was at Trade centre. She tipped the police who apprehended her. Nyamadzawo led the police to Chikwanha where Munemo was arrested.
