The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority is on a new drive to promote domestic tourism through a campaign called #VisitZimbabwe. The campaign, created to encourage Zimbabweans to visit local destinations, commenced in the Harare Gardens in Harare.
Said Godfrey Koti, ZTA head corporate affairs:
This involves ZTA staff talking to people in the CBD in Harare. Staff have been put into teams of 10 to 12 members and given a local destination to focus on as they preach domestic tourism at strategic points in the city centre such as First Street, Africa Unity square, Joina City Mall and Harare Gardens.
This was initially conceived as a ZTA team building exercise to involve every staff member in destination promotion
