Government Increases Price Of Voice Calls In Zimbabwe. Fibre Internet & ADSL Too

Government, through the country’s telecoms regulator, POTRAZ, has increased the price of voice calls and Internet provided via Fibre, WiMax and ADSL in Zimbabwe. It has however not increased the price of mobile data which remains at 5 cents per MB out-of-bundle.

This follows a request that was made by mobile and fixed operators – Econet, NetOne, Telecel, Africom, TelOne – who had appealed to the regulator to allow an increase in tariffs because of the forex exchange rate that has gone as high as 1:4 on the parallel market (USD to RTGS$).
