We Won't Seek To Please America To Have Sanctions Removed- Mnangagwa
President Emmerson Mnangagwa said that he would not take action to please another country simply to see sanctions removed.
Mnangagwa had been asked if the would fulfill US President Donald Trump’s administration’s required reform(s) in order for sanctions to be lifted. Mnangagwa said the measures had “no basis at all”. He told The National in Abu Dhabi that his Government is concerned with satisfying the needs of Zimbabweans not Americans. Said Mnangagwa:
We cannot say that there is something which we must do to satisfy America. Our concern is to do those things which satisfy the needs of our people. We want to build a Zimbabwe we want, a Zimbabwe we can be proud of. We should not condemn ourselves to poverty, condemn ourselves to isolation.
