In a press briefing on Monday evening, President Mnangagwa said he will be visiting Manicaland tomorrow to personally assess the rescue efforts.
Manicaland was hit by Cyclone Idai over the weekend resulting in destruction of infrastructure and death. The death toll currently stands at 98. Mnangagwa also extended his condolences to the affected families. Said Mnangagwa:
I shall be leaving for Manicaland tomorrow to acquaint myself with and personally lend weight to rescue efforts already underway
Earlier on Monday, MDC leader visited Manicaland to survey the wreckage left by Tropical Cyclone Idai.
