While addressing the media at the end of the South Africa-Zimbabwe Bi-National Commission in the capital Harare on Tuesday, President Emmerson Mnangagwa used unusual hyperbole. He said:
Even the Lord upstairs could not keep his house in order, he had satan so these things happen but he still remains there as the creator.
Mnangagwa’s remarks were met with mixed reactions from the public. While some considered his remarks highly blasphemous by comparing himself to God and suggesting that God could not keep his house in order, others took it as mere hyperbole.
