Newsday Owner "Heartbroken" By His Paper's Biased Reporting

Trevor Ncube, the owner of Alpha Media Holdings (AMH), the company that publishes Newsday, The Standard and Zimbabwe Independent newspapers has apologised for a story carried in one of his publications.

The Newsday of Tuesday, March 12, 2019, had a headline which reads: “RTGS To Devalue Further: RBZ”.

Ncube said he is ‘heartbroken’ by the bias shown in the story. Writing on Twitter, he said:

My heart breaks that Newsday Zimbabwe got this story so wrong. This is an example of our blind spots/biases colouring our world view contributing to polarisation. While l maintain my newspapers are not me/l am not my newspapers – I am embarrassed. Sincere apologies to Zimbabwe.
