Nakamba Set To Miss Warriors-Congo Clash On March 24

Belgian-based Warriors striker Marvellous Nakamba is set to miss the Warriors 2019 AFCON qualifier against Congo-Brazzaville on March 24 at the National Sports Stadium.

Nakamba suffered an injury that will sideline him for up to four weeks, though he is still expected to report for camp next week for routine assessments by the Warriors medical team.

A Club Brugge statement revealed that Nakamba was injured during training on March 6. The statement said:

He suffered an acute pain on the left hip region on the training of 6th March.

MRI performed today shows oedema in the M iliacus and a rupture in the iliopsoas muscle of 3 cm.

He will be out of training for four weeks. So, he will not be able to attend the upcoming National team games.

Meanwhile, Warriors Manager Wellington Mpandare says that Nakamba will be missed. He said:

He is a big player, high profile for that matter, the only player who has played in the Champions League this season and, so, obviously, we will miss his services.

We have players who can play in that position but we would have loved to have him in the team.

He is coming, though, to be assessed by our doctors.
