Dynamos marketing and public relations executive Tinashe Farawo said that the club has not been sold to Gold Leaf Tobacco.
This comes as the club’s former captain Memory Mucherahohwa asked for clarity on his Facebook page whether the Glamour Boys had indeed be sold.
Farawo maintains that DeMbare will not be changing its traditional name. Said Farawo:
Dynamos remains Dynamos FC. The arrangement we have with RG is a sponsorship deal to help each other.
The club has not been sold. What we have is a very good marriage, a win-win arrangement in which Dynamos will help grow the RG brand and in turn, RG will help grow ours.
This deal is not exclusive. Dynamos can have other sponsors but we will have to consult our main sponsor RG.
Actually, tomorrow (today) we will be meeting chairpersons of the various supporter’s chapters and we will also take that opportunity to clarify this issue.
Last week the Glamour Boys revealed that they have sealed a 5-year sponsorship deal with Gold Leaf Tobacco.
Under the terms of the deal, Dynamos is entitled to get RTGS$1 million every season.
