Dynamos legend George Shaya is still admitted at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals where he is said to be recovering well after he had his left leg amputated last week.
Shaya won the most prestigious accolade awarded to a local footballer, the Soccer Star of the Year, five times.
Social media was awash with reports that Shaya had passed away.
However, close family members have dismissed the rumour.
Shaya has been unwell for some time and last Wednesday doctors recommended his leg, which was suffering from a serious infection, be amputated.
