Zim’s Annual Inflation Rate Is 279% – Steve Hanke

Steve Hanke, an American applied economist at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland and Senior Fellow and Director of the Troubled Currencies Project at the libertarian Cato Institute in Washington, DC has thrashed Zimbabwean government officials’ method of calculating inflation. Said, Hanke:

Zimbabwe’s annual inflation rate, measured accurately using PPP methodology, is 279%, almost 5 times the official, government rate.
