MDC Youth League leader Happymore “Bvondo” Chidziva was on Tuesday acquitted by Gweru provincial magistrate Charity Maphosa on charges of inciting violence in the run-up to the July 2018 polls.
Maphosa ruled that the State had failed to provide enough evidence to prove its case beyond reasonable doubt.
Chidziva was represented by Jeremiah Bhamu and Brian Dube.
Chidziva’s lawyers argued that they were making an application for discharge because the State had failed to prove a prima facie case against their client.
