Tendai Biti In Court For Judgement Today
MDC Alliance Vice Chairman, Tendai Biti will be back in court at the Rotten Row magistrates today. Magistrate, Gloria Takundwa will be delivering a judgment in Biti’s case against the State.
Bit stands accused on two counts of contravening the Electoral Act for his claim on July 31, that MDC leader Nelson Chamisa had won the 2018 presidential polls. He is being represented by human rights lawyer, Beatrice Mtetwa.
Biti pleaded not guilty to both accounts.
The judgement follows several weeks of turbulence that have marred the beginning of 2019 with the government accusing MDC Alliance of plotting regime change through protests. MDC Alliance, the government says would like to reverse the result of the 2018 presidential poll.
