MDC president Nelson Chamisa reportedly met with two Matabeleland South chiefs, Chief Vezi Maduna of Filabusi and Chief Felix Nhlanhlayamangwe Ndiweni.
The meeting took place in Harare last Thursday. MDC national chairperson Thabita Khumalo confirmed the meeting to NewZimbabwe.com. She said:
I can confirm that president Chamisa met with Chiefs from Matabeleland.
As you know, chiefs are the custodians of our culture and tradition.
Several issues regarding our culture and the spirit of ubuntu were discussed in the meeting.
Chief Maduna is one of the most vocal critics of the government and he has been consistently calling for the resolution of the emotive Gukurahundi issue.
