Zim Needs 173 Million Condoms A Year
Zimbabwe on Wednesday joined the rest of the international community in marking World Condom Day with reports that the country needs 173 million condoms a year.
International Condom Day is observed on February 13 every year. The day precedes Valentine’s Day which falls on the 14th.
International Condom Day is thus a reminder to people to use condoms and to promote safer sexual awareness.
In a statement issued on Thursday by the Ministry of Health and Child Care, Deputy Minister Tsitsi Apollo said that an estimated 2 million STI transmissions were prevented in the last 20yrs in Zimbabwe.
