A man was on Sunday trampled to death by an elephant in Marange while taking pictures of the jumbo.
The incident was confirmed by Manicaland police spokesperson Tavhiringwa Kakokwa on Monday.
ZimParks spokesperson, Tinashe Farawo said that they had sent a team to investigate the incident. He said:
It’s very unfortunate that a life has been lost, we have dispatched our team there [Marange] so that we can find out what really happened. The incident happened yesterday (Sunday) in the morning.
We are suspecting that the elephants came from Chiredzi where there is a park.
