24-year-old Mental Patient Spears Father To Death Over $500 School Fees
A 24-year-old suspected mental patient was arrested in Sadza communal area, Mashonaland East Province for fatally stabbing his father with a spear. The man accused his father of failing to provide $500 for his school fees.
The man identified as Finish Kambarami reportedly stabbed his father, Aaron Kambarami, several times during a struggle.
The incident occurred in Gonomundiro village under Chief Neshangwe in Sadza.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirmed the incident. Mashonaland East provincial police spokesperson Inspector Tendai Mwanza on Thursday said:
I can confirm the tragic incident that occurred in Chivhu, where a suspected mental patient allegedly stabbed his father to death.

The suspect was arrested and charged with murder. We urge those who are in custody of mental patients to ensure that they take their medication regularly to avoid such incidences.
Police from Sadza police station recovered a blood-stained spear and axe handle that was used to commit the crime.
