Chiwenga, Mohadi Flown Out For Treatment- Report

ZimLive reports that Zimbabwe’s Vice Presidents Constantino Chiwenga and Kembo Mohadi have been flown to India and South Africa respectively due to failing health.

The online publication reports Chiwenga was forced to abandon his treatment in South Africa following protests. Mohadi has been in and out of hospital after he was injured when a grenade exploded at a Zanu PF rally at White City Stadium in Bulawayo last June. Government sources told ZimLive that Mohadi is expected in the country on Friday morning, hours before President Emmerson Mnangagwa flies to Addis Ababa in Ethiopia for an African Union summit.

Mohadi will be Acting President in Mnangagwa’s absence. The publication reports Chiwenga was flown by private jet to India on Thursday, accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Health John Mangwiro. Chiwenga attended Cabinet on Tuesday after which he declared that he was in good health in an interview with ZBC.
