Vice President Constantino Chiwenga today attended a cabinet meeting together with President Emmerson Mnangagwa. This was revealed in a post by ZBC News on its Twitter page.
The revelation comes after media reports had indicated that Chiwenga was airlifted to South Africa on Friday evening on medical grounds. Chiwenga was said to have been admitted at Cape Town’s Groote Schuur Hospital. However, South Africa’s Health Department in the Cape rejected those claims.
The post by the ZBC News read as follows:
Vice President Retired General Dr Constantino Chiwenga attends today’s Cabinet meeting, together with VP Kembo Mohadi, President Emmerson Mnangagwa and Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Dr Misheck Sibanda!
However, former Higher and Tertiary Education Minister Jonathan Moyo was quick to query the photo posted by ZBC News. Writing on microblogging site Twitter, Moyo said:
Good show. But did you take these pictures? Relying on still photographs whose images are exactly the same like those used by
@HeraldZimbabwe, and posting them at the same time, smacks of propaganda; and does not help your case as an audiovisual company. This was for @InfoMinZW!
