Former Deputy Minister of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare Tongai Muzenda has been appointed general manager of the Minerals Marketing Corporation of Zimbabwe (MMCZ).
Muzenda’s appointment is with effect from today. The appointment was confirmed by MMCZ corporate communications executive Ms Pretty Musonza to The Herald last night. Muzenda takes over from former acting general manager Mr Richard Chingodza, who has left the firm. Said Musonza:
The MMCZ board is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Tongai Muzenda as general manager effective today, 1 February 2019. Tongai is no stranger to the mining industry, having served in various capacities at Anglo-American’s Zimbabwe Alloys.
MMCZ was established through an Act of Parliament (MMCZ Act Chapter 21:04) and began operations in March 1983. It is 100 percent owned by Government and falls under the Ministry of Mines and Mining Development.
