Diarrhoea Outbreak Hits Chegutu, Residents Blame Council

Chegutu Mayor Councillor Henry Muchatibaya confirmed the town was hit by diarrhoea outbreak last week.

Residents from Umvovo Suburb were the most affected, with a sizeable number seeking medical treatment at Chinengundu Clinic. Muchatibaya denied accusations that council was supplying residents with contaminated water. He said tests conducted on the water proved that it was safe for human consumption. Residents interviewed by The Herald accused Chegutu council of supplying dirty water.
