Govt To Announce Developer To Dualise Beitbridge-Bulawayo-Victoria Falls Highway

Transport and Infrastructural Development Joel Biggie Matiza said government will soon announce a firm to dualise the Beitbridge-Bulawayo-Victoria Falls highway.

He said this during a tour of Kazungula Border post and Ferry Bridge across the Zambezi River on Sunday. Matiza did not reveal details on when the announcement will be made. Said Matiza:

As for dualisation of the highway, it is work in progress. Expression of interest has been made and we will soon announce who will take up the job.

Tenders for the expression of interest were floated last year. Government also intends to dualise the Victoria Falls-Kazungula road. Other major roads to be dualised are the Beitbridge-Harare-Chirundu, Harare-Bulawayo, Harare-Mutare and Harare-Nyamapanda highways.
