Mnangagwa Silent About Activists Accused of Treason

In his first statement since returning to Zimbabwe, President Mnangagwa did not comment on the arrests of several activist leaders in Zimbabwe, who are now imprisoned and charged with treason.

At least 4 leaders, ACTU leader Obert Masaraure, #ThisFlag activist Pastor Evan Mawarire, Zimbabwe Youth Alliance president Kumbirai Learnmore Magorimbo, and ZCTU Secretary General Japhet Moyo are charged with treason are currently imprisoned.

In his statement, Mnangagwa mentioned that the protesters were violent and that this was wrong. He also mentioned that protestors stole guns from the police.  He promised investigations would be held and that if required, heads of government officials would roll.
