In a statement, MDC leader Nelson Chamisa said dialogue can only begin when freedom of expression is guaranteed.
He also called for the unconditional release of people arrested in connection with violent protests that broke out in Harare and other parts of the country last week. Chamisa said Zimbabwe cannot make progress without the rule of law and peace. Said Chamisa:
Going forward, we must correct wrongs now. We call for an immediate end to the crackdown and terror that has induced insecurity across the country. We call for the unconditional release of all prisoners of conscience and political detainees whose rights continue to be violated
No nation can make progress without the rule of law and peace. Zimbabwe cannot be open for anything without being open to its citizens’ concerns. In order to dialogue, one’s tongue must be free to talk. The tongues of the nation are tied in jails and many others by fear. This must end

your conditions are yours Nelson, stop wasting time . swallow your pride young man and realize that Zim is a Nation of over 15 million souls, not some institute of Higher Learning. the more you organise and execute these funny riots the more you expose yourself as an Empty Vessel. you have no Economic policy as a party , No Educational policy , No health policy , No welfare policy infact No Direction whatsoever beside these Riots . Tsvangirai was better for he had it in him to oppose Mugabe until collectively as a nation we all Marched Gushungo out of office.
set your priorities right young man and present yourself as a leader of a well respected opposition party not this Dzakutsaku mentality that you are exhibiting. unokuvadzisa vana ,shamwari. stop and Learn – our current President at 19 was in the bush setting bombs and fighting British imperialists who enslaved every Black man. Now its your chance to lead the youth in a different kind of war , Economics , Empowerment and Development – Hondo dzepfuti dzakapedzwa kare idzo – Focus Young Man
