Police Assault Journalist in Harare City Centre

Police assaulted a 263chat journalist, Costa Nkomo, today while he was covering their work in Harare. Nkomo was recording skirmishes between the police and vendors when a police officer whipped him on the back. The policeman’s colleagues had to restrain him.

MISA Zimbabwe condemns the wanton assault of journalists in the course of their constitutionally guaranteed duties.
