‘I Have Written Letters To Mnangagwa Without Reply Before And After Elections’ – Chamisa

MDC president Nelson Chamisa has revealed that he reached out to President Emmerson Mnangagwa several times but in vain. He reiterated his position that dialogue is the only way forward to deliver the country from the economic challenges currently being experienced. Writing and responding to followers on Twitter today, Chamisa said:

I’ve met with many on our worsening situation and unbearable suffering. The back-to-school burden, high prices,non-performing economy, joblessness and worthless salaries bring sorrow. On this, I call upon my bro ED to urgent dialogue to solve our politics &economics or it gets worse!

1)I have written letters without a reply before and after elections.
2)I have met with potential mediators in the church.
3)I have engaged leaders in SADC and AU
4)I made a public statement of invitation.

Working flat out to have dialogue in order to save lives rather than lose lives to have dialogue and a solution.

The country is effectively shut down when one spends 24 hours in queues. How do we shut down what is shut?

It’s not about individual positions. My concern is about the wellbeing of Zimbabweans through a political solution focusing on key economic and political reforms.

I have done everything doable including demos. Even winners dialogue!

  1. Dialogue with Mnangagwa could have been made easier and progressive had Chamisa accepted Mnangagwa’s good gestures to make him formal opposition leader in Parliament.Chamisa thought he knew it all, now he realises he blew it.He blames Mnangagwa for not heeding his calls yet he was the first not to heed Mnangagwa’s calls.Chamisa should grow up and be strategic enough.
