Full Text: Govt Brings Forward Civil Servants Pay Dates Ahead Of Crucial Meeting


1.0 Following the commitments that emerged from the consultative meeting held by Government, the Apex Council and representatives of other Public Service Staff Associations on Monday 7th January 2019 at in Harare; Government wishes to confirm that the National Joint Negotiating Council (NJNC) Meeting will take place at 1200 hours on Thursday, 10 January 2019 in Harare.

2.0 The purpose of the NJNC meeting is for the Government to formally present its feedback to issues raised by the Apex Council at their last meeting of 7 December 2018

3.0 Government fully expects that the partners in the NJNC will focus their undivided attention on delivering effective responses to the challenges arising out of the current distortions in the market.

4.0 In pursuit of the urgent need to address these challenges, Government has since brought forward the January 2019 pay dates for the different workers in the Public Sector as follows:-

(a) Monday 14 January 2019

(1) Zimbabwe National Army

(2) Airforce of Zimbabwe

(3) Prisons and Correctional Services

(4) Zimbabwe Republic Police

(5) Health Sector

(6) Education Sector

(b) Wednesday 16 January 2019

1) Rest of the Civil Service

2) Pensioners

5.0 Government recognizes and appreciates the readiness of the social partners to urgently discuss concrete proposals to support and capacitate public sector workers to deliver services that the nation needs within mutually recognized and sustainable parameters
